The main section of the toolkit allows you to find weather or climate forecasts to assist you in your work. It gives you a series of choices. First you would indicate whether you are looking for historical, realtime or forecast information. Once you’ve chosen one, you will be given choices on the time period you need, for example under forecast information, you could choose anything between a daily weather forecast and the seasonal climate forecast. The final choice is the variable, such as rainfall, windspeed or maximum temperature.
You will then be given one to three URLs of websites which will provide the information you have chosen. There will be a description of each provider (e.g. SA Weather Service) and the product that you have chosen, as well as a URL. If you click on the URL the website will open in a new window so that you can still see the description of the product you have chosen which will also explain how to interpret the more complex forecasts.
